The Umhlali Project

Community & Institutional Capacity

The Umhlali project is all about sharing knowledge and resources.  To this end, we make a variety of materials, tools and resources available for use on this website.

We also provide ongoing training and capacity development workshops for local stakeholders on the themes of the Umhlali Project.

In addition, the Umhlali Project has a number of tools and resources that we use to communicate and engage with a wide range of different stakeholders:
  1. Facebook
  2. The project website
  3. The project blog and RSS feed
  4. Gqebera News- a community paper which is published four times a year
  5. Walmer’s Own – a youth-developed magazine which is published four times a year
  6. Film and video – youth-developed content from the Umhlali journalisms and film club
